Team GBR 2013

Ebreichsdorf, Austria, 2013

In 2013 the Equestrian Vaulting Championships were held in Ebreichsdorf, Austria.

It was another excellent performance by Team GBR.

The senior vaulters for Team GBR had certainly had an excellent Championships in 2013.

Senior Individual Female

In the senior classes, Joanne Eccles performing to ‘War of the Worlds’ won the Bronze medal in the Senior Individual Female class, vaulting on W.H. Bentley and lunged by John Eccles. Joanne was 5th in the world rankings.


Lucy Phillips was 10th, vaulting on Pitucelli and lunged by Liz Phillips. Team GBR were delighted to see two British vaulters in the top 10.


Joanne Eccles’ catsuit for the technical test was themed on Van Gough.


Senior Squad

EVS represented GBR in the Senior Advanced Squad, and were 7th, vaulting on Go For Gold and lunged by Julie Newell. The team were: Sara Shortland, Lydia Barham, Steph Hunter, Paige brown, William Jenkins & Jessica Haynes.

Senior Pas de Deux

Joanne and Hannah Eccles wearing¬† ‘Downtown Abbey ‘ themed catsuits vaulted on W.H. Bentley and lunged by John Eccles competed in the Senior Pas de Deux and were placed 2nd. This pas de deux, now ranked 3rd in the world

Junior Championships 2013

The Juniors also competed in Ebreichsdorf, Austria in 2013.

Junior Individual Male

Andrew McLachlan, vaulting on Tylers Kernel, lunged by John Eccles won 3rd place in the Junior Individual Male class.

Also competing in this class was George Cox, vaulting on Go For Gold and lunged by Julie Newell, George was placed 16th.

Junior Pas de Deux

Rebecca Norval and Andrew McLachlan were 2nd in the Junior Pas de Deux, once again this outstanding achievement was performed on Tylers Kernel, lunged by John Eccles.

Junior Squad

SSS qualified to represent GBR in the Junior Squad class, vaulting on Romantic, and lunged by Julie Newell they were delighted to win 8th place

Junior Individual Female

Stacey MacPherson and Hannah Young competed in the Junior Individual Female class, where Hannah took 13th place and Stacey was 24th.
