Two women from the Scottish Borders have been recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Jessica Mary Troughton from Ettrick And Lauderdale is recognised with a BME for services to the community in Stow, Galashiels.

Margaret Jean Morgan from Berwickshire is awarded an MBE for her services to the Riding for the Disabled Association.

It really was a great shock, I had no idea it had even been applied for but I feel very very honoured to have received this and it’s not just for me, it’s for the whole group and it’s also my family who give me a hundred and ten support for anything to do with RDA.’
